This high quality, full color 32 page softcover book published by Mushi-sha is a great resource for getting some basic information and beautiful images for some of the most popular (and some obscure) stag beetle species worldwide. Although the text is mostly in Japanese, the scientific latin names of the species are all readable as well as their size ranges for both male and female of the species.
Mushi-sha is the company that publishes BeKuwa, probably the best known magazine for the beetle keeping hobby in Asia. In addition to BeKuwa, they have also published many books on keeping beetles. This one is small but has some great visuals and is well worth the reasonable cost.
