Tariff Information & Pricing

Some of you may be wondering how the new tariffs by the Trump Administration will affect the prices that you're paying for goods imported from overseas.  I am extremely sad to report that as of September 2025 Japanese products will be subject to a 15% tariff.  That additional cost to importing products from Japan will result in an overall increase in prices for products that are from Japan.  Other international products, like Benjamin Harink's book on Breeding Beetles will most likely be subject to additional tariffs as well moving forward.  If you'd like to see how imports from each nation is affected you can check here.

In addition Japan Post has stopped shipping packages to the United States.  Packages can still be sent via DHL or ECMS but products such as beetle jelly can not be shipped using ECMS.  DHL would be prohibitively expensive for shipping jelly.

Not only will prices for imported product be going up, but availability may also be affected.  Going forward, it may be challenging to acquire products and/or have products shipped to the US affecting availability.  This is extremely disappointing since the goal of this business is to bring products common to the beetle breeding hobby to the US market at prices that people can afford.

We ask that you remain patient as things have been changing on a near weekly basis.  We are currently researching alternatives that may be more cost effective in hopes of stabilizing price increases.  Thank you for your understanding.
